Are ClickFunnels Legit and More importantly are They Worth it?
So I have been using ClickFunnels for quite a while now and when I mention it to other people or have a look around online I also hear and see the same two questions;
- Are ClickFunnels Legit
- Is ClickFunnels Worth it
Now these questions are extremely general and open up a very broad topic of discussion. In this article I am hoping to answer both of those questions and also add some insight into why maybe these questions are being asked in the first place.
So let’s keep this article in a nice sequence and start with question 1
Are ClickFunnels Legit?
Now this question is extremely broad and whether or not ClickFunnels is ‘legit’ could very wildly depending on what you define as being legit.
ClickFunnels is a well established company that was able to go from $0 to in excess of $100,000,000 in just 3 years, now I know there has been some scams in the past in which the scammers have accrued large sums of money but to acquire hundreds of millions this would have to go down as one of the biggest scams in history.
Providing we exclude any scams relating to stock markets though as those things are in a different league of their own when it comes to large sums of money.
In fact at the time of writing this article ClickFunnels is currently at 440 in the Inc. Companies List and in 2018 it peaked at position 76. Inc. is certainly not a company who would endorse scam companies and they are widely seen as one of the most prestigious and authoritative names in business.
The next view that someone may have which to them would make ClickFunnels non legitimate is do sales funnels work? This again is very distant claim as ClickFunnels did not invent the strategy or model of sales funnels they simply built a software that allows people of all levels to construct highly converting funnels.
To make this claim would be like saying is Redbull a scam because they didn’t believe energy drinks worked. Now maybe you don’t understand exactly what a sales funnel is, which is absolutely fine, I know I certainly didn’t before getting into the space of Online Marketing.
A sales funnel is a marketing principle/ strategy that are designed to maximise the profit potential/ cart value of each customer.
A traditional sales funnel would entail a landing page which would show the product/ service the customer was originally looking for When at this page the customer is likely to enter their payment information to make the purchase, once they have done this they would then get taken to another page that would often have a small upsale.
The small upsell would often be a small ticket item that makes the customer think it is such a small amount of money, why not get it.
From the upsell page they would get sent through a 2nd sales page, the difference now is that as customers move through your funnels with each page you have another touch point, this allows you to develop trust around your products and brand.
With this ever growing trust the last page is can often be a high ticket/ premium upsell. Again as the customer entered their payment information on the landing page, again this premium product/ upsell can be purchased with one click thus reducing the barriers that often prevent people parting with money.
Hopefully you are starting to realise that clickfunnels really isn’t a scam but does that mean it is right for you and your business?
Well ultimately that is a question that only you can answer as only you know what is right for your business. I understand though that just because you know now that clickfunnels isn’t a scam that doesn’t necessarily mean you actually know what ClickFunnels is or what it can do
What is ClickFunnels?
Clickfunnels in short is a Marketing Software however with the ability to build sales funnels, landing pages, create membership sites and host webinars. Is ClickFunnels worth it?
Now to answer the question with precision I would need to know what business you are in and what tools/ methods you currently use to sell or market your services/ products.
ClickFunnels thrives when selling online products or services, especially those in the information/ teaching sector, be it ebooks, coaching or even consultancy.
But that isn’t all ClickFunnels is good for. Now it’s true that every business in the world needs to have a funnel process if they are serious about growing their business and ClickFunnels makes building sales funnels a piece of cake, and yes it’s true there are other tools out there that allow you to build sales funnels but honestly they don’t compare to ClickFunnels when it comes to features, integrations or price.

I know you are still dwelling on that last paragraph where I said their competitors don’t compare on price.
You are probably thinking ‘but some of these tools are cheaper than ClickFunnels?’ and while yes that’s true if you just look at the bottom line however they are cheaper.
However if you compare the actual tools and pages etc that you get included with each package you will see that ClickFunnels is the clear winner.

Now you are probably thinking which package do I think you should go for?
Well again that depends on a few factors such as,how many sales funnels/ landing pages do you need simultaneously and what is your previous experience marketing and selling products. The reason these are important factors is because it would drastically change my answer.
With the basic package you get the ability to have unlimited site visitor, 20000 contacts, 20 sales funnels and 99 pages which I feel is more than ample for the average business. However if you have a particularly large catalogue of products or services you may want to opt for the premium package.
With ClickFunnels Platinum you get access to unlimited pages, funnels, visitors and contacts.
The second point I made was down to experience in marketing.
Now the reason I made this point is as of September 24th ClickFunnels celebrated their 5th Birthday.
To make the 5th birthday a big one they brought in some much needed changes.
Prior to September 24th I would have mentioned the size of the email list as being a factor that might make you opt for the more premium package as the Etison Suite (Clickfunnels old top tier plan) had its own email marketing tool known as Actionetics.
The reason I would of mentioned the size of the email list is if you were to have an email list of 20,000 members upwards you would most likely be paying in excess of $250 for the privlege.
Based on that fact it would make far more sense to move that list over to ClickFunnels by uploading a CSV file.
This way not only will your marketing software and email software be better synced up but it would also save you a lot of money.
However like I said this was prior to the 24th.
So what was this big update they announced on the September 24th.
They decided on September 24th they were going to get back to their routes and focus on being the best Sales Funnel Builder on the market.
With this update they decided to place Actionetics into maintenance mode, what this means is that if you had ClickFunnels top tier plan before this date you still have full access to Actionetics, however, by being placed in maintenance mode there will be no more updates of bug fixes to the software.
If you signed up to Clickfunnels after the 24th you want have access to Actionetics.
So you may be thinking
‘if actionetics has gone why would you get the top tier plan?’
Well when they removed actionetics they added something huge.
Etison suite was rebranded to ClickFunnels Platinum and they added 3 new amazing features.

So just what are these features
Daily Virtual Hackathons
If you are familiar with the ClickFunnels Youtube channel this concept may seem familiar to you as it resembles there funnel hacker friday series.
The Daily Virtual Hackathons are a digital training series in which they build sales funnels from scratch for a variety of different businesses and niches.
The purpose of this is to teach you how you can build a sales funnel that is right for your business. On top of showing you how to do it they will teach you why certain elements work in the way they do.
I feel if you understand why something works it makes it much easier to replicate.
Funnel Flix
Funnel Flix to me is the best feature that was released with ClickFunnels Platinum.
Funnel Flix is netflix for business.
It comes with a whole host of content ready to go, from documentries and trainings all the way to a behind closed doors look into seminars and conferences hosted by Russell that he charged the attendees in excess of $10,000 to get into.
Im sure you can image the amount of valuable content dropped in those seminars.
Funnel Hacker Forum
If you have recently seen the ClickFunnels Facebook group you will see there is in excess of 200,000 members, which, when you compare to the approximate 100,000 paying clickfunnels members you can see there is quite a disparity.
Having this many members that don’t actually pay for or use the software makes the Facebook group a very busy and unreliable source of information.
ClickFunnels noticed this fact and therefore introduced Funnel Hacker Forum.
